Error Code E IF
Defect of BLDC fan motor for ice making (icing fan)
Moderate
Address soon - your appliance may not work properly
Also displayed as: E IF
How to Fix
- 1
Power cycle the unit and enter Test Mode 1 (press TEST button once on Main PCB).
- 2
Open the freezer door and check for airflow from the icing fan; if airflow present, go to step 5.
- 3
If no airflow, manually rotate the icing fan blade by hand. If sticky or seized, replace the icing fan motor.
- 4
If fan rotates freely, measure motor supply voltage at CON4 12th Pin to 11th Pin in Test Mode 1; expected 11.4 to 12.6V.
- 5
If motor supply voltage is absent, replace the Main PCB.
- 6
If supply voltage is correct, measure feedback voltage at CON4 10th Pin to 11th Pin; expected active signal (not fixed 0 or 5V).
- 7
If feedback voltage is fixed at 0V or 5V, replace the icing fan motor.
- 8
If feedback is correct, measure PWM voltage at CON4 9th Pin to 11th Pin; expected not fixed 0 or 5V.
- 9
If PWM is fixed 0V or 5V, replace the Main PCB.
- 10
If all voltages are correct, explain normal operation to customer.
